 Andreas was nothing short of amazing. My whole family from age 11 to 79 had a great time. He made sure the elders has a comfortable a safe adventure even with there mobility challenges and made sure the 11 year olds could have the adventure they craved. The children took there shoes off and waded in the glacier water, zip lined from a mountain top and had a great time hiking. The elders of the group enjoyed a troll car ride up towards the glacier and a nice covered area to wait while the more mobile part to the group hiked. We all enjoyed an beautiful ride of the sky lift and the elders had a nice place to watch their grandkids zip line. All the while Andreas gave us local food, and treats, and told us the most interesting bits about the area. I can not imagine a better guide for such a large age group. He masterfully made sure that each age group was taken care of. Thank you!

This was absolutely our favorite excursion of our whole cruise to Norway. This was due, in large part, to our guide Andreas. He had a wealth of information about the Olden since he had lived near the area. His contacts with the locals, his passion for Norway and the breathtaking views were all top notch. We were greeted with a comfortable vehicle and given personal attention even to the smallest details such as a treat once we reached the top of the hike to the glacier. Andreas was very accomodating and communicated well the history and stories of Olden. Thank you Andreas. Thinking of the tour of Olden still brings a huge smile to my face. Also, the waffles with sour cream and jam was great.

This tour was beyond fabulous. Between Andreas as our guide and the scenery of the Briksdal glacier and atop the Loen Lift, our day with Andreas couldn't have been better. He is very personable, easy to converse with and will provide you with so much more information than you would get on a group tour. Andreas also provided us with a nice lunch of some Norwegian food items and beer. The day flew by and we were sorry that it had to end. I can't recommend this tour and guide enough.

I have now visited Norway for the second time with Andreas Skogrand, owner of Private Guided Norway, as my guide...once was just not enough! It was truly an EPIC trip that was an absolute blast from start to finish! He handled everything, all I had to do was get there! Leading up to the trip it was easy, he's super friendly and a great communicator. He had so many cool things planned…Lofoten Islands eagle safari, cod fishing, learn about & visit ocean salmon farms, seeing the Northern Lights, taking the Hurtigruten down the coast, ATVing in the mountains to camp in a teepee and have dinner made by a private chef, visiting Roros-a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, fabulous hotels & spas, shopping, beautiful restaurants/meals…the list goes on. It was truly a trip of a lifetime.

Our outstanding experience!
Our tour of the Olden Valley up to the Briksdal glacier was the highlight of our Nordic Cruise. Andreas, our tour guide, was "The Best". He was personable and knowledgeable providing most interesting insights into the history, culture, and environment of the region. The fjord scenery with the mountains, lakes, waterfalls, and glaciers is truly magnificent. This tour is a "must not miss" for anyone visiting the Nordfjordeid area.
The tour was extremely well organized and executed.

Andreas was amazing. He was waiting for us when we got off of the ship in Olden and we were on our way. It was great having someone that knew the area and how to navigate efficiently. We arrived at the Troll cars before anyone else and arrived at the glacier before the crowds. We spent about 45 minutes at the glacier. He is very knowledgeable on the history and the geology about the glacier. After the glacier visit he drove us to Loen and took us to the Skylyft. We spent some time on top of the mountain and took in the views. Andreas had a picnic lunch for us which included beer, sodas, water, local cheeses, crackers, different local sausages and some sweets. We drove around Loen before returning to our ship. I would definitely use Andreas again and highly recommend his services.

Easy booking process and great follow up with detailed instructions.
I thought there was more to the Atlantic Ocean highway and that it was a bit longer. Town was beautiful and picturesque. The hike down from the Varden lookout was fun and challenging.
Andreas deserves a 5! He was very attentive, personable, knew the history and accommodating. He provided a tailgate picnic of traditional Norway foods that made it memorable.

Even with the very rainy and wet conditions we had an amazing day! It was our entire group's favorite port and that was in large part due to the our wonderful guide. Eric was wonderful and we especially enjoyed the local foods he set up for us to snack on after our troll car ride. Thanks for a great day in Olden! :)
This was the only tour we found that included both the troll car ride to the Briksdal glacier and the Loen skylift and both are absolute must-dos while in Olden. We had a fabulous day, even with the uncooperative weather. ;)

The scenery was awesome. The pace was easy and picture stops beautiful.
Our guide, Eric, was excellent. He talked a lot about the local culture. Made sure we were at the glacier and gondola at the perfect time. He also brought us samples of Norway foods like moose, goat cheese and chocolate.
We had some problems with email communication. But, in the end we made good contact and the guide was waiting off the ship.

 The Briksdal Glacier and Loen Skylift daytour with Andreas was the highlight of our 7 day Norwegian Fjords cruise. Thinking back over the last several years and various cruise excursions, this one with Andreas, would be among the top three. Andreas has an easy going personality and, having grown up in the area, knew much of the area and its secrets. I'm not sure if this the most beautiful area in Norway or if it was Andreas knowing how to direct our attention to the unique beauty around us. The best photos of the 7 day cruise were taken on this excursion. When I travel back to the area I will be sure to see if Andreas is available as a guide.

We loved this day with Andreas. I think it was our favorite day of 11-day cruise. We were with one other couple which made for a comfortable experience where we saw so much beauty and learned so much about Norway and this area in particular. He also set out a fun charcuterie of moose, reindeer, ham, salmon, brown cheese and other things that were fun to try. Thank you for such a nice day!
